History, Destiny

Mico Halili: San.Mig.Coffee…Grand.Slam.Champions!

Ang sarap ulit-ulitin eh.
Ayun, nagka-idea ako.
Ire-record ko, tapos gagawin kong ringtone! J

Haha (Sipsip)

Hindi nakakasawang balikan.

Kung isu-summarize ko ‘tong achievement na’to, it all boils down to 2 words: HISTORY, DESTINY

History.
Flashback…
Year 2006 nung huli akong nanood ng Pambansang Liga. Champion pa nga yung Purefoods Chunkee Giants noon diba? Against Red Bull? L
Okay, fast forward…
April 4, 2012, alone in the living room, I turned on the TV, switched channels until my remote led me to 13 “Uy.. PBA”, I said. I saw Coach Tim Cone, so I thought, it’s an Alaska game, but when I glanced at the score board, it showed MERALCO BOLTS vs BMEG LLAMADOS. “Uy, si Coach RG naka-orange, hala, teka ano ba’to? Anyare?”
So, after six years, yun ang gumulantang sa akin. Coach RG’s now with Meralco Bolts and my most hated Coach Tim Cone’s now with BMEG LLAMADOS (in fairness naman, alam ko namang nagpalit sila ng pangalan. Hehe)
Alright, so I sat down and watched the game. It’s the game 2 of best-of-three Commissioner’s Cup quarterfinals series. Llamados won that fight to force a Game 3.
So dahil naguluhan ako, nagsearch ako and I found out that, that was the second conference of Coach Tim. First conference was, they topped the elims but only to be upset by NAGLILIYAB NA KAMAY ni EL GRANADA.
Sir Mico was to announce that “Talk ‘N Text is your PBA…. Oh wait, there’s a foul! There’s a foul!” Kelly Williams fouled Denzel Bowles with BMEG down by 2. Naihi na talaga yung tatay ko dun, so di niya napanood yung unang freethrow.
GRABE! Haaay.. sarap maalala.
That game went into overtime, and as we could all remember Bowles, being cheered by his Mama Bowles and the mammoth crowd in the Araneta, dominated that end game.
That’s DESTINY over DYNASTY.

Grabeng pagbabalik-loob yun!

BMEG entered the next conference with Marqus Blakely as their import. Tagged as the ‘Beast’ and ‘Mr. Everything’, he led Llamados to its 2nd Finals appearance on that season to face the young Rain or Shine team headed by Coach Yeng Guiao.
That was ‘ouch’ for me, most specially seeing Blakely fouled early in the fourth and James Yap and PJ Simon missed open one-handed-shots.
“Wala na, ROS na ‘to.”

- 2012 BMEG’s Record : Quarterfinalist – Champion – Runner Up

-2013 SMCM’s Record :  Semifinalist – Semifinalist – Champion : Survived 2 do-or-die games (Gov. Cup semi-finals to finals)
Before entering the next season, San Mig Super Coffee Mixers acquired three rookies, 2nd Pick overall Ian Sangalang, together with Justin Chua, Justin Melton and JR Cawaling. A few days after the draft, Justin Chua was eventually traded to GlobalPort in exchange for Isaac Holstein, the 7th pick overall of GlobalPort.

2014 All Filipino Cup
They faced Rain or Shine once again in the FINALS, but this time, no import to rely on. Unlike their first meeting, this series only went into six games, where San Mig Super Coffee Mixers got its back to back championship title with Marc Barroca was named as the Finals MVP. Oh, anong naaalala niyo?
Finals MVP – Marc “Coffee Prince” Barroca
Dito natuloy ang inasam kong back – to – back championship 2 years ago.

2014 Commissioner’s Cup Dito natin nakamit ang THREE-PEAT.
Twelfth franchise championship, three straight under Coach Tim as he surpassed the legendary Coach Baby Dalupan.
Finals MVP – James Yap

2014 Governor’s Cup – Grand Slam!
Finals MVP - James Yap, with an average of 16.2 points and 4.4 rebounds in this series.

-2013 SMCM’s Record:  Champion – Champion – Champion : Survived 7 do-or-die games

Napakasarap balik-balikan ng mga pangyayari.
Nine straight do – or – die games ang nalampasan ng team.

Destiny.
The Dean Mr. Quinito Henson said. “It’s DESTINY.” “San Mig Coffee is destined to win this grand slam.”
There are a lot of buzzes out there that this History isn’t legit. #RefereeMagic #Refolyo #AsaSaRef
Oh well, kwento niyo nalang sa pagong. Lol!
I strongly believe that everything happens for a reason, has its own time and season.
Nung na-shoot ni Denzel Bowles yung two pressure-packed free throws;
Nung natalo tayo ng Rain or Shine sa Finals, kung saan nag early exit si Blakely, tapos hindi na-shoot ni James at PJ yung mga open jump shots nila in crucial minutes;
Yung pagbalik ni Blakely, he got his Best Import award, tapos nag champion tayo against Petron, ang naging umpisa ng sunod-sunod na championships;
Yung pagka-panalo sa Rain or Shine nung All Filipino Cup? Hindi rin naging madali yun para sa team. Kung maaalala natin, nung nagtapat sila sa elimination round December 2013, tinambakan ng ROS ang San Mig noon. Grabe yun. Parang bagsak yung mundo ko nun kasi, sabi ko sa sarili ko, “kelan ba tayo makakabawi sa ROS na yan?” Massacre yun eh. Pero anong nangyari sa pagbubukas ng 2014? Tuloy-tuloy ang panalo, hanggang say un nga, nakarating sa Finals at sila pa ang nagkaharap. San Mig Coffee won that conference. Para bang, simula nung December 2013 Massacre eh, sinabi nila sa sarili nilang “Di na kami muling magpapa-bully sa inyo.” ;
How about Commissioner’s Cup? When I’m about to give up, seeing our import not as competitive as I expected, our locals proved that “HINDI KAMI ASA SA IMPORT.” Dynasty vs. Dominance. Malinis yung record ng TNT diba? San Mig Coffee lang ang nakatalo sa kanila, sa championship pa. THREE-Peat! ;
Eh nung semifinals? TALK ‘N TEXT lang naman. Almost everybody expected that this series should be in the Finals. Power house team yan eh, besides, TNT has a motive for revenge. Pero, hindi. Dito sila nagtagpo sa semis and that was a very HARD test for the Mixers.
Sabi nga nila, the Painters is the best team to slam Mixer’s Grand Slam dream. WHAT A CAST diba?
Pero nothing’s gonna stop DESTINY, if it’s partnered with healthy bodies, prepared minds, determined hearts and strong faith. For all the hardships they went thru, for all the 9 do-or-die games they’ve overcome and for all the sacrifices they had faced, this is the sweet destiny they really deserved. How lucky… nah…erase… How BLESSED we are, I am as a fan, to be able to witness this rare peat that a team could ever have. This, I would keep forever and will be told to my anaks, pamangkins, apos and anak ng apos.

SMSCM GRAND SLAM SONG
Yeah, it’s not easy
Scenes went shaky
Every loss, it feels so heavy!
Many lapses encountered
Injuries that bothered
But with a lot of heart
They still played hard…
Chorus:
Now, they are here, destiny (history)
Road that’s narrow, a lot of sorrow!
They will fight until the end
Will play fair, score and defend!
Different bodies, different minds
United together, they’ll stand
Going strong thru the test
“Do your best, beat the best and be the best!”
II.
Gone thru changes,
Different system
Hard adjustment,
With new faces
Unexpected, things got twisted
But their heart and spirit remained…
As one…

Refrain:
This is the time…
We now see the light that shines!
Refrain:
When everything gets tough
(When everything gets tough)
And if the road is going rough
They hold on to each other
Sometimes their strength looks not enough
(Sometimes their strength looks not enough)
But showed their HEART’s not giving up
And hold on to each other…
Coz’ They believe nothing’s gonna stop that.
Nothing’s gonna step them
Nothing’s gonna stop their dream.
Now they’re written in HISTORY!

Our Victory (SMSCM's Grand Slam Victory party)

July 9, 2014
San Mig Super Coffee Mixers
Governor's Cup Champion
Four-peat
Grand Slam

Tears of joy.
Speechless.
Euphoria.

July 11, 2014
San Mig Super Coffee Mixers
Victory Party

My little brother, who was afraid he'll not be allowed to enter because he doesn't have any ID.

We arrived there and fell in line at 4:30 in the afternoon.
I skipped the afternoon session of our Journalism Seminar just to get here with my brother. (That's what I promised him, because he really wanted to meet the players personally, specially Marc Pingris and Marqus Blakely so he can give them his own-made loom bands. haha)

As we were about to enter the venue, Marc Pingris came out on the other gate. My lil brother shouted, "Si Ping, te si Ping!" I get my camera and "click"! He's heading to SM, together with a body guard.
So we're in. The screen was showing the replay of historic Game 5 of recently concluded Governor's Cup.
We were still shouting and clapping our hands, as if, we're watching it live.

Few moments later, players started to enter the scene that made us, fans, gone wild.

Who says, you need to be James Yap to be popular? Sus!
May gano'n ba? Sino?
Jerwin Gaco is the name. According to Gov. Pardo, he's a leader and good motivator from the bench. A glue-guy who's said to be one of the most popular second- third stringer. We will going to find out soon, if he'll be staying with us or not. :(

My heart melts everytime I hear his voice. #Quickmelt talaga. :) This electrifying rookie, Justin Melton is the new Super Sub (because PJ Simon is a starter already) and Mr. Quality Minutes of this team. I hope he'll stay... :)

This is Ian Sangalang - the Priced Rookie.
The blessed 2nd over-all pick.
He's the youngest of all the freshmen but plays with maturity who never backs down and he steps up when needed.
Don't mind the ROY, MVP is just around.
Malay mo next year? :)

The Speaker of the House.
The Walking Mismatch.
The Clown.
Another role player who knows the system very well, yet rarely appreciated. He can play multiple position and can also be a threat in offense in any given time.
Yow the man, Joe Devance

All Filipino Cup 2014- Finals MVP.
Mark Barroca.
He was once the Coffee Prince, turned into a  Coffee King.
One of the fourth quarter of this team who can kill the opponent, either by scoring or making stops.
Already has five championships across his name.
Wow!
Isn't that great for the highness? :)
#LarongBarroca
#DepensangBarroca

One of the BIG-3, Peter Jun Simon.
The Scoring Apostle, who finally, got a major award as one of the Mythical Five in this season, 2013-2014.
Playing behind the shadow of James Yap never stopped him from doing what he does best.
A perfect ROLE - STAR- MVP CALIBER PLAYER-HUMBLE-GIRL MAGNET-CALM-SELFLESS-ETC-ETC-ETC. <3
I do hope that you'll get another Major Award. Uhm.
Kahit MVP LANG okay na yun. :)

Governor's Cup 2014- Finals MVP.
The Man with a Million Moves.
Big Game James Yap.
Just when many fans thought na "laos ka na", suddenly, Woooooosh!
Two consecutive Finals MVP LANG NAMAN!
How can this team let go of someone like you?
Governor's Cup 2013- Finals MVP.
PUSO.
The Heart and Soul of this team.
An emotional player, a true leader who walks what he talks.
Pinoy Sakuragi.
The Defensive Demon.
Sana marami ka pang ma-inspire na kabataan like my brother.
He wants to be like you,
Marc Pingris.

After almost an hour, the players were instructed to go down for a press conference.
While waiting, the fans once again watched the fourth quarter's replay of the Game Five.
The big shots and the big misses.
The chances that ROS had, yet DESTINY dictates, it's really San Mig Coffee's time.
Malas. Divine Intervention. Whichever you may call it. Ang alam ko lang, IT'S OUR DESTINY.
After the game, lumabas na yung dalawang MC's..
Few moments later, they called one by one all the members of the team from the utilities, physicians, players, assistant coaches, coach, governor upto the team Manager.

The program started afterwards.  All the team members lined up on stage.

Coach Tim Cone was called for a short speech.

He first thanked the utilties specially Mang Jun Jun (Boy Sucat) and Mang Maning (Defense Anchor)Coach Tim believed that they are one of the pieces for this Grand Slam puzzle. Every little things and support they did, gave an additional motivation to the players.

He also thanked Marqus. He said that it all started with Marqus. Governor's Cup 2013 and now Governor's Cup 2014.

Then, he recognized all the players effort and perseverance. Followed by his word of gratefulness to Team Manager, Alvin Patrimonio.

And ofcourse, Coach Tim Cone expressed his gratitude towards the fans- their support and prayers.
After his speech is the turnover of trophy, received by the BIG THREE.
The party didn't end there.
They once again gave the players the time to go to the fans to have picture taking and autograph signing.

Alex Mallari.
Another player who's game was really evolved.
He has better play making skills and shot selections now.
But, what's the best thing he brought to the table?
His defense.
He was tasked to stop Castro and the likes, then the imports as well.
One of the now and future of this team.

Allein Maliksi.
Bawing-bawi!
Of all the injuries that haunted him, a Grand Slam is the best way to further motivates him to keep going.
No doubt, he's a threat in offense.
He's not afraid to take his shots from all areas.Could be the next James or PJ of this team. But making his own name is the best.

Marqus Blakely. The BEST IMPORT!
OMG my tears start to fall.
Like what Coach Tim said, this historic 4-peat started on you. What amazed me was the fact that, you're not in your 100% physical condition, yet your 100+% energy is always being felt by us, by your teammates most specially.
Your scream whenever you dunk, block or scored hard was great, but what's greater was that everytime I saw you scream and jump when James scored big, when Pingris blocked a shot, when PJ finished strong to the basket and when Justin Melton dunked the ball.
Hope to see you next year Marqus!

 Cap Alvin Patrimonio.
My first ever favorite player and probably the main reason why I'm still supporting this team.
His presence on the bench right now as a team manager is no doubt one of the players' motivation.
He taps players'shoulder, he gives some whispers of maybe instructions and praises to the players.
He's still, I believe, the spiritual leader of this team.

Coach Richard Del Rosario.
He helps in training our Bigs.
Aside from that, his sense of humor brings lightness to the team.
He's not kept by Coach Tim for nothing.
Sir, tuloy niyo lang po yung School of Freethrow ah. hehe

Coach Jason Webb.
Everything happens for a reason ika-nga.
I never imagined that Sir Jason Webb, will be working with Coach Tim Cone in this team.
One of the better if not the best commentator in the PBA, now part of this Grand slam team.

One of the highlight of the event is the Jamming Time!

Look at Taha. Now we know what will be his career if he quits basketball. hehe
After that very very fun jamming time was Marc Pingris' speech.
He thanked all the fans for support and love.
He mentioned that without us, this Grand Slam will be impossible to achieve.
He also gave credits to those who watched practices and apologized if sometimes they weren't accommodated well because of tiredness.

To end the program, all the members went up again on stage, circled around together, raised their hands in unity and waved good bye on us.

That good bye doesn't mean the end.
Like what the players were saying, specially James, that he is still longing for more championships.

This victory is for all of us.
For the players, a reward given by the Most High, of all their hardships, sacrifices and pains.
For the management, who has given this team the opportunity of having a great coach and assistant coaches who were able to choose a bunch of talented role players.
For Coach Tim, who religiously poured out his efforts, mind and soul to achieve his 2nd Grand Slam.
For the assistant coaches, who shared what they have and gave all out support to the master.
And for us, San Mig Coffee Fans, who earnestly cheered every game, live or at home, who cried every defeat, who had sleepless nights whether in pain or joy.

History after history: How San Mig Coffee put its name in the book?

Since the arrival of Coach Tim Cone, this team reached the play-offs consistently.
In 2012 All Filipino Cup, BMEG Llamados (its former name) topped the eliminations round but experienced an upset loss to 8th-seed Powerade Tigers lead by Gary David.  That painful experience motivated this team to perform better into the next conference. Lead by a 6 ft 11 in, 23-year-old Best Import Denzel Bowles, this team captured its 9th championship, first under coach Tim Cone, in a miraculous win over Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters after putting the game into overtime as he sank those two nerve-cracking free throws in a mammoth Game 7 Sunday crowd at the Smart Araneta Coliseum? James Yap was named the Finals MVP then.
Going to the next conference, 2012 Governor’s Cup, BMEG Llamados once again entered the Finals against a young talented team Rain Or Shine Elasto Painters headed by their fiery coach Yeng Guiao. This series was again stretched into 7 games where the Painters captured its first PBA Title lead by their import Jamell Cornley who outdueled Llamados’ all-around import Marqus Blakely.
Because of two consecutive Finals appearances, no doubt that BMEG Llamados drew more fans, that made the San Miguel Corporation decided to change BMEG Llamados into San Mig Coffee Mixers.
In 2013 All Filipino Cup, they finished the eliminations with 10 wins and 4 losses, grabbing the second seed with a twice to beat advantage. They passed the quarterfinals by winning against Petron Blaze, but failed to reach the next round by losing to their contrapelo, Rain or Shine, 4 wins to 2.Those where the times when Coach Yeng Guiao had Coach Tim Cone’s numbers.
On the next conference, 2013 Commissioner’s Cup, they finished the eliminations, 8 wins to 6 losses, at the fourth seed. They passed Meralco Bolts on a best-of-three quarterfinals series, but lost to the Alaska Aces on the Semi-Finals, 3-1, with their comeback import, Denzel Bowles. That was the time when Alaska Aces got its first title under a rookie coach Luigi Trillo.
On the start of the 2013 Governor's Cup, they finished the eliminations, 6 wins and three losses; they won the quarterfinals over Alaska Aces and the semi finals against Meralco Bolts. They faced and defeated Petron Blaze Boosters in a 7-game series lead by the Best Import Marqus Blakely and Finals MVP Marc Pingris, 80-77. That’s the 10th title for the franchise and 13th for Coach Tim Cone, tying him with his idol, the legendary Baby Dalupan for the most number of PBA titles in league history.
After their 10th championship, a press conference was made by the team that renaming it as San Mig Super Coffee Mixers.

Back – back championships
Because of some injuries and fatigue that bothered this team, San Mig Coffee had a slow start in the 2013 All Filipino Cup, having a record of 0-3. But this team was able to reach a 7-7 record to end the eliminations round and face Talk ‘N Text in the quarterfinal round. San Mig won the Game 3 of the playoffs with a great performance from their rookie, Justin Melton in a 90-82 win that earned them a place in the semifinals round against Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel. That Manila Clasico series also went into 7 games, where the Mixers came out victorious and booked its ticket to the Finals. They faced Rain or Shine once again, this time, no import to rely on. Unlike from their first meeting, the series only went into six games, where San Mig Super Coffee Mixers got its back – to back championship title with Marc Barroca was named as the Finals MVP.

Three- peat
Because of the height-limit rule in this season, San Mig Coffee wasn't able to call Denzel Bowles for his another duty here, that’s why, Coach Tim Cone decided to tap James Mays as their import for this 2013 Commissioner’s Cup conference. They surpassed Alaska in the quarterfinals and Air 21 in the semi-finals. Being tagged as “Mr. Everywhere”, James Mays helped this team to reach its 3 straight finals appearances against a team with a clean record from Eliminations to Semi-finals, the Talk ‘N Text headed by Coach Norman Black. The Mixers won game one with a 95-80 victory, breaking the thirteen-game winning streak of the Texters.  But, the Texters came out strong on their second meeting and won the game, 86-76. The Mixers bounced back and won the game three of the series 77-75. Game 4 was held at the Phil Sports Arena, May 15, 2014. The Mixers, being down 17-1 on the first quarter, rallied back and won the game 100-91 and bagged their twelfth championship, three straight under Coach Tim as he surpassed the legendary Coach Baby Dalupan. James Yap won his 2nd Finals MVP under Coach Tim Cone.

Four- peat / Grand Slam
San Mig Coffee again recruited Marqus Blakely for the third time. Why not? He’s known as the Mr. Everything who provides the tangibles and non-tangibles for this team.
Having a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals, the Mixers was able to defeat Petron Blaze in their first game, that tallies their eight-straigth semi-finals appearance wherein they will be facing the powerhouse Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters. San Mig won the first two games, but Talk N Text was able to grab the next two games to force a do-or-die match. Winning their last 7 do-or-die games, San Mig Coffee was able to end this series and booked its ticket to their 4th straight Finals Appearance to continue their hope for a historic grand slam.
Just when people thought that Talk ‘N Text was the hardest test for San Mig Coffee, Coach Yeng and the rest of his boys showed why they were the team who will try to spoil the Grand Slam dream.
San Mig won the controversial game one, with the timely hits from Big Game James Yap, 101-104; but, Rain Or Shine fought back on yet another closed game two, 87-89, lead by AZ Reid. Game three became a bit different for San Mig Coffee who won by nine points, 69-78, piloted by their priced – rookie Ian Sangalang. However, Game 4 became more unlikely, for Rain Or Shine came out really strong delaying that Grand Slam celebration of San Mig with Coach Yeng’s “magic bunot”  Jonathan Uyloan, 88-79.
In Game Five of this very momentous event in the PBA history, San Mig Coffee started strong and even took the lead for as much as 16 points. But we all know that Rain Or Shine are not going to back down easily. The lead went down into one but James Yap scored five consecutive points in return. AZ Reid though limping in pain because of his foot injury tried everything to help his team get back and cut the lead down to three in less than two minutes left. The Painters had all the chance to tie the game, but Paul Lee and Jeff Chan both missed their three point shots. On the other hand, James Yap and Marc Barroca both missed their 2 free throw shots living Rain or Shine yet another chance to tie the ball game with just 2.6 seconds left. Coach Yeng called a time out and mapped his final plan. AZ Reid was able to receive the ball from the inbound and shoot a trey but the distractions from Marc Barroca and Marqus Blakely were enough to not make the shot.
The final buzzer sounded. That sound marked the San Mig Coffee Mixers as the 4th team in the PBA to grab that elusive Grand Slam.
James Yap was named as the Finals MVP with an average of 16.2 points and 4.4 rebounds in this series.
Defense wins championships
Sounds cliche, but this really works for the Mixers. This team had beaten talented and offensive-minded teams. If it's a low scoring ball game, basically, it's San Mig Coffee's game. Teams like Talk 'N Text, Petron and Rain Or Shin have a lot of shooters from the outside. They could score more than a hundred in any given time. But, against San Mig Coffee, their productions against with them in a series were lessen. The number of attempts might be the same or has a slight difference, because the Mixers will actually allow them to shoot from the trey more rather than in the paint or both.

The beauty of surpassing do-or-die games
Before this game five, San Mig Coffee surpassed eight do-or-die games. Meaning,  they experience eight series or playoffs of grinding out, battling through adversities, and when their backs are against the wall. Those experiences toughened them and made them knew each other well. How did it manifest? Before game five on this series, San Mig Coffee players had guts to state the following:

“Alam naman naming marami kaming games na ganito. Sila kaunti pa lang siguro sa mga ganitong crucial games. Ito ang advantage namin sa next game,” Barroca said.

”Masarap maglaro sa ganitong sitwasyon na do-or-die, parati naman kaming ganito. Masarap maglaro kasi nang may pressure. Pero siyempre, mas masarap kapag nanalo,” he added.

“Mahirap, pero sa ganitong mga Game Five, may experience na rin kami. So hopefully, magamit namin yun this coming Wednesday,” Yap said.

“Kung may hinog yung puno na yan. Hindi mo kailangang hintayin na mahulog. Kailangang kunin mo. Yan ang gagawin namin bukas. Kahit anong mangyari kukunin namin yan (championship),” Pingris added.

Coach Tim is now the first PBA Coach winning two grand slams in two different franchise.

Now that they put their name in the PBA History, all their hard work and sacrifices had paid off.

Congratulations San Mig Super Coffee Mixers!

Kala natin, malalaglag na yung lobo.
Kala natin, ilalabas na yung Grand Slam T-shirts and banner.
Kala natin wala ng Game Five.
Pero...
Nagkamali tayo.

I convinced him "agad-agad". So we bought tickets last Sunday afternoon.
Ubos na ang lower box, so no choice, upper box nalang.
We entered the Dome at 6:30 PM.
Then my lil brother said, "Bakit may mga pulang lobo na ate?"
"Ah... kaya pala, ROS management yan sila nagpa-reserve niyan at namigay ng tickets" sagot ko sa kapatid ko.

Maya-maya pa, dumami na yung tao.
Tapos lumabas na yung mga players.
Sigawan na!!!
Nakatingin ako sa mga lobo sa itaas.
"Balloons, please fall tonight."

Tumingin ako ulit sa itaas, "balloons, are you gonna fall tonight?"

ROS fans chanted.
My tears was about to fall, but I saw my dad, smiling and said,
"Di bale, at least after 20 years nakanood ako ulit ng live."
Then, we decided to go out.

Habang papalabas, tumingala ako ulit, smiled and said, "balloons, humanda ka na sa Wednesday ah, for sure babagsak ka na nun."

Yes, for sure, balloons will fall on Wednesday.
But the question is for whom?
For the Grand Slam chaser or for the Grand Slam spoiler?

So hopefully, magamit namin yun this coming Wednesday,”

O, may hinahanap kayo no?

Sir Carlo Pamintuan tweeted:
No guarantee from Marc Pingris. Only silence.

This team got here by always passing the if not the roughest, the rougher road.
Ngayon pa ba tayo susuko at mawawalan ng pag-asa?
Siyempre hindi!
Let's just continue to support and pray that those balloons will fall for the Grand Slam chaser. That those balloons will be included in the books to fall for the fourth Grand Slam team in the PBA history.
